Emma Watson revealed her eco-friendly new mode of transportation after a six month U.K. driving ban.

During her recent podcast appearance, the original Harry Potter star spoke publicly for the first time since being issued the ban, sharing that she has traded her four-wheeled vehicle for a two-wheeled ride.

"I recently started riding a bicycle," she told Jay Shetty during their wide ranging conversations on the On Purpose podcast episode.

The Beauty and the Beast actress ssaid that she has picked up cycling as a hobby, playfully clearing that the interest came even before her temporary driving ban.

"Yes, I started riding a bicycle before my driving ban, but now it's particularly fortuitous that I also ride a bicycle for that reason," she said with a laugh.

For the unversed, in july 2024, Watson, who last appeared onscreen in 2019's Little Women, was involved in a speeding incident.

On July 16, 2025, she was officially banned from driving for six months in the U.K., according to BBC News. The court also ordered her to pay a £1,044 fine (approx. $1,396) at High Wycombe Magistrates' Court.

Moreover, Shetty, 38, brought up how the driving penalty became "mainstream news," during their impromptu conversations with the 35-year-old actress admitting the media coverage added to her embarrassment.

"I was getting phone calls. Like, it's on the BBC, it was on international, worldwide news! I was like, 'My shame....' It is everywhere,” she recalled.
