Chris Evans recent appearance at the TIFF for Sacrifice premiere sparked speculations among fans regarding his role in the Marvel's upcoming highly-anticipated film, Avengers: Doomsday.
Evans, who is not starring alongside the 27 Marvel superheroes, stepped out in new ripped physique, similar to how he had while he used to be starring as Captain America/ Steve Rogers.
Fans on X (formerly Twitter) went wild after seeing the transformation.
One fan wrote, "clean shave Chris Evans WELCOME BACK STEVE ROGERS OMG."
"Gee I wonder why he’s back in peak physical shape [eye emoji]," another said.
A third user shared their thoughts, "Alright Chris I’ll see you in Doomsday, ain’t no other role he had to bulk up for anyways."
"He's definitely reprising his role as Captain America in Avengers: Doomsday!" one more echoed the sentiment.
"I know what he's doing. I just can't prove it yet," speculated a fan.
Despite the ongoing theories, Evens absence from Avengers: Doomsday is due to his character's conclusion in Avengers: Endgame. In the 2019's film, Steve Rogers travel back in time to return the infinity stones and choses to live the past with his lover Peggy Carter (Haley Atwell).
He returns to present time as an old man, passing the Captain America mental to Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).
Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026. Meanwhile, it’s sequel Avengers: Secret Wars is set to hit theatres on December 17, 2027.
