Idris Elba finally addresses rumours about entering politics

Idris Elba has finally addressed rumours about entering politics while promoting his new movie, A House of Dynamite.

The Luther actor broke his silence at the Venice Film Festival press conference, saying, “I think you have to give it to people that enter politics.”

However, Idris revealed he has no interest in politics.

“The life cycle and going on an educative curve to become a politician means that you have to adopt that courage really early because then you’re faced with these impossible predicaments,” explained the The Suicide Squad actor.

“It’s about your judgement then; it’s about what you know, what you’ve learned, what you’ve lived through, and your courage,” continued the 52-year-old.

Therefore, the Heads of State actor added, “I learned I don’t have the courage to be in politics, that’s for sure!”

It is pertinent to mention that Idris made headlines for his documentary, Our Knife Came Crisis, released in February.

In the docuseries, the actor voiced his concerns over the issue that prompted the Labour Party to select him as a candidate for the Mayor of London.

Meanwhile, on the acting front, Idris’ new movie A House Of Dynamite will release in UK cinemas on October 10.

He is going to return with Disney animated sequel Zootropolis 2 on November 28.
