Tom Holland, who is engaged to Zendaya, reflected on his struggles with ADHD and dyslexia.
The Marvel actor, who stared in new LEGO film, talked about how its message "never stop playing" has an effect on his mental health.
In an interview with IGN, the Uncharted star said, "I think [play] really does help. I have ADHD and I'm dyslexic, and I find sometimes when someone gives me a blank canvas that it can be slightly intimidating."
Holland added, "Sometimes you are met with those challenges when developing a character."
The Odyssey actor said that he believes in tapping into his inner child through "play" in order to get himself prepared for any given role.
"Any way that you can, as a young person or as an adult, interact with something that forces you to be creative and forces you to think outside the box and make changes," he continued. "I think that the more we do that sort of stuff, the better."
Previously, the 29-year-old artist revealed that he also suffered from dyslexia, which he was diagnosed with at age seven.
"My dyslexia, it's really just my spelling, he explained during an appearance on Jay Shetty's On Purpose.
Crediting his parents for their support, he continued, "My spelling was really the biggest hurdle. I worked really hard at school. I didn't do particularly well, but my parents said, 'As long as you try your best.'"
Holland is currently busy with two huge projects, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The Odyssey is set to release on July 17, 2026 and Spider-Man: Brand New Day ON July 31, 2026.
