Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man 2 suit is up for historic auction with record –breaking bidding.

The Iconic suit is set to be auctioned on September 4, and collectors are already buzzing. Bids start at $50,000, and it’s estimated to be auctioned off between $100,000 and $200,000.

A cording to Parade, created by Academy Award-winning costume designer James Acheson, Spider-Man’s costume for Spider-Man 2 includes, a darker blue fabric, a more streamlined muscle silhouette, slightly reduced eye lenses and a larger chest emblem.

The suit consists of a red and dark blue one-piece bodysuit with integrated boots. Zippers are discreetly positioned along the sides and lower back for entry.

According to the PropStore Auction, certain sections that were damaged during filming have been fixed.

Released in June 2004, Spider-Man 2 takes place two years after Norman Osborn’s (Willem Dafoe) death.

Peter Parker (Maguire) struggles professionally and personally because of his commitments as Spider-Man. But when a failed nuclear fusion experiment results in an explosion that kills his wife, Dr. Otto Octavius (Alfred Molina) is transformed into Dr. Octopus, a cyborg with deadly metal tentacles.

Blaming Spider-Man for the accident, Doc Ock seeks revenge. The film was directed by Sam Raimi and written by Alvin Sargent.

The bidding lot will end on September 4 and auction will take place at 10 am PT and will be streamed live via broadcast.
