Taylor Russell exits 'The Thomas Crown Affair' due to THIS reason

Taylor Russell will no longer star in Michael B. Jordan's upcoming film, The Thomas Crown Affair, due to creative differences.

The actress was originally set to play the role of an insurance investigator suspicious of the protagonist, Thomas Crown, who is planning an elaborate heist.

Despite her exit, production on the film continues in London, with the studio reportedly looking to recast Russell's role.

The Thomas Crown Affairis a remake of the 1968 film of the same name, starring Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. The new adaptation is directed by Michael B. Jordan, who also stars in the film alongside Kenneth Branagh, Lily Gladstone, Danai Gurira, Pilou Asbæk, and Aiysha Hart.

The script was written by Drew Pearce, with previous drafts penned by Justin Britt-Gibson and Wes Tooke.

Russell has several projects lined up, including the Korean thriller Hopeby Na Hong-jin, alongside Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander, and Jung Ho-yeon.

She will also co-star with David Jonsson in the upcoming Frank Ocean film and is in talks to star in a remake of Single White Femaleopposite Jenna Ortega for 3000 Pictures.

Despite the setback, The Thomas Crown Affairis still set to release in theaters on March 5, 2027.

The film's production team, including Jordan, Elizabeth Raposo, Patrick McCormick, and Marc Toberoff, is working to bring this romantic heist movie to life. Alan Trustman, who wrote the original film, serves as an executive producer.
