James Gunn breaks silence on rumours regarding ‘Wonder Woman’ filming

James Gunn dismissed rumours about Wonder Woman casting and plotline.

The Superman director responded to speculations made by fans, conforming that he has not yet started looking for actors to star in the movie "nor even discussing it, until script is finished."

Taking to his Threads account, he also denied rumours that DC Studios is in search of a heroine "with a TV-centric resume" similar to Supergirl’s Milly Alcock.

"Nope. And I’d never in a million years look for a major role based on whether they did TV, films, or whatever," he wrote. "It's all about the casting."

The Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker also addressed the buzz about the project being "fast-tracked," saying, "It's a priority but I wouldn't call that fast-tracked."

He continued, "Nothing is going to be shot unless we're as sure as we can be that the script is good."

Wonder Woman or Princess Diana of Themyscira, is a superheroine from DC Comics, first appeared in 1941 All Star Comics. Created by William Moulton Marston, she is an Amazonian trained as a warrior and blessed by Greek gods with superhuman strength.

She is also one of the founding members of Justice League including, Superman and Batman.
