Charlize Theron has recently expressed her interest to direct a movie in the future.
The Mad Max: Fury Road actress discussed her direction plans in a latest conversation with Variety at her Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Program Block Party in Los Angeles.
“I’ve always kind of been interested” in directing a movie, said the 49-year-old.
However, Charlize revealed what stopped her from venturing into direction for now.
“I have young children, and to direct is very all consuming…I need my kids to get out of the house,” explained the Atomic Blonde actress.
Charlize however hinted at a third sequel of her movie, The Old Guard 2, which she believed ended at an incredible cliffhanger.
But the Devil’s Advocate actress, who also serves as a producer on Old Guard franchise, added, “We are going to take a break, take a little breather, and then we’ll come back and decide.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Charlize shared her favourite stunt to do in The Old Guard 2.
“The helicopter hands down,” she told the outlet at the event.
The actress pointed out that the scene was shot towards the end, and “I was like, ‘Oh, my God, if I pull this off, I’m gonna be okay with never doing a stunt again’”.
Nevertheless, Charlize noted that the stunt didn’t last long, but it was intricate.
“It was psychological. The first two weeks of it was sitting down with the pilot and building trust. But by the end, I was hanging off a helicopter,” disclosed the actress.
Meanwhile, Charlize will next begin filming Christopher’s Nolan upcoming movie, The Odyssey.
