Eva Mendes, who share two daughters with Barbie actor Ryan Gosling, has opened about her approach to parenting in the modern world.
The two have been together since 2011, but they have often kept their relationship private. In fact, it was not until 2022 that Mendes confirmed her marriage with Gosling.
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Mendes opened about her parenting approach and the anxieties she faces.
Eva has made sure that their children are homeschooled and do not have access to phones, a choice rooted in her protective instincts.
During the chat, she shared, “Putting my kid on the internet and saying, 'Search something,’ feels like sending her out alone at night.”
2 Fast 2 Furious actress explained that even though she admits that it may sound extreme, but it reflects her genuine concern.
Mendes also shared how she and Gosling try to ground their children by talking about their own struggles growing up. “I explain what we didn’t have, how we lived paycheque to paycheque,” she said.
Though she tries to teach them about hardship, she admitted they may never fully understand it without living through it themselves.
Eva and Ryan have two daughters namely Esmeralda Amada, born in 2014, and Amada Lee, born in 2016.
