'Captain America' star addresses if he will be returning for 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Chris Evans recently made a statement about his presence in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday that has left fans believing that he is lying.

The new Marvel movie has entered production and will be releasing next year.

The 44-year-old, who is currently doing press tours with Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal for fresh rom-com Materialists, addressed in an interview if he will be featuring in the 2026 Avengers movie.

While speaking with Screen Rant’s Liam Crowley, Chris stated, “It’s sad to not be back with the band, but I’m sure they’re doing something incredible, and I’m sure it’s going to be that much harder when it comes out and you feel like you weren’t invited to the party.”

Fans suspect that the Gifted actor is lying. They say that it feels like ‘he went to the Andrew Garfield school of lying’, referring to the time when the 41-year-old continuously misled the reporters and media about his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Here are some fan reactions to his recent statement:

Evans’ followers expect the actor to return to the MCU film because Robert Downey Jr is reprising the role of 'Doctor Doom' in the forthcoming action sci-fi, which is slated to release on December 18, 2026.
