Adam Brody opened up about his toughest audition for an iconic role in his early career.
The Nobody Wants This star recalled his unsuccessful audition for the beloved children's show, the Blue’s Clues.
During a sit down on The Hollywood Reporter’s roundtable with fellow comedy lovers, Ted Danson, Seth Rogen, Julio Torres, John Mulaney, and Jason Segel, Brody shared, "I really wanted Blue's Clues early on when I first moved to L.A."
When Rogen asked if he "fought for it," The O.C actor remembered "trying really hard" for it.
"It was like 1999, I auditioned for it, I wanted it, I didn't get it. But I would’ve loved it. It's a show for toddlers. But it’s all of those early ones," he said.
Blue’s Clues premiered on Nick Jr. in 1996 and introduced Steve Burns as the animated show’s original human host. After Burns departed the show in 2002 he was replaced by Donovan Patton and later, Joshua Dela Curz, the show’s current host.
Meanwhile, Brody bounced back from the losing the role after he stared in Gilmore Girls as Lane’s (eiko Agena) Hep Alien bandmate and boyfriend Dave Rygalski. He then gained recognition from his breakout role in 2003 teen drama The O.C. as Seth Cohen.
Recently, Brody earned his very first Golden Globe nomination and is considered as an Emmy contender for his role in Netflix's rom-com series Nobody Wants This.
