Daniel Radcliffe helped out an old friend as Tom Felton prepares for his big Broadway debut. On the red carpet at the 2025 Tony Awards in New York City on June 8, Felton shared with PEOPLE that he’s leaning on Radcliffe for guidance as he gets ready to step into Harry Potter and the Cursed Child this fall.

"My old school chum, Potter, [Daniel] Radcliffe, has done quite a bit of Broadway, so he's holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn," Felton said.

"But from what I gather, it's an amazing community of people. The fans are really, really gracious and excited. So I'm just thrilled to be part of it."

Radcliffe, 35, starred as Harry Potter in all eight films from 2001 to 2011. He made his Broadway debut back in 2008 with Equus after first performing the role on London’s West End.

More recently, he won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance in the 2023 revival of Merrily We Roll Along, where he starred alongside Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez.

Felton, known for playing Draco Malfoy throughout the Harry Potter films, is stepping back into that world with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

The stage production takes place 19 years after the events of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. He’s set to join the cast at the Lyric Theatre in New York City starting November 11 for a 19-week run.
