Stranger Things, three years after wrapping season four, has finally announced the release date for the highly anticipated season finale of the hit TV series.
In season four, the Hawkins gang faces a terrifying new villain, Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who terrorises teens through their trauma. As Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) regains her powers, the group uncovers deeper ties between Vecna and the Upside Down.
During the Tudum 2025: The Live Event, Netflix announced the release date of the horror science-fiction series: volume one on November 26, volume two on December 25 and volume three on December 31.
However, many fans expressed disappointment over the release pattern, especially considering the time it already took to produce season five.
They took to X (formerly Twitter), to share their dismay and thoughts with others.
"What are these dates omggg a month of waiting for volume 2???? I'm too impatient for this," wrote one user.
A fan shared their disappointment, "This is actually the worst release schedules for a TV show that I have maybe ever seen."
One echoed the sentiment, "Waiting like 5 years for a show, and them dividing it into 3 parts???? lmao it's such a joke??"
"Girl this is just ONE season… y'all are dragging it by splitting it into 3 parts," penned another.
The synopsis for Stranger Things season five reads, "Hawkins is scarred by the opening of the Rifts, and our heroes are united by a single goal: find and kill Vecna. But he has vanished his whereabouts and plans unknown.
"Complicating their mission, the government has placed the town under military quarantine and intensified its hunt for Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will’s disappearance approaches, so does a heavy, familiar dread."
