Squid Game star Lee Jung-jae made a shocking confession ahead of the highly anticipated season 3 premiere.
Durthe Netflix’s Tudum event on Saturday, May 31, the South Korean actor, who played Gi-hun the protagonist in the dystopian survival thriller horror television series, revealed he’s feeling anxious about how the final chapter will be received by fans.
"We are going to be releasing quite soon, I am very nervous," the 52-year-old actor admitted during a brief conversation with The Hollywood Reporter.
Speaking through an interpreter, Lee teased the brutal upcoming chapter, which marks the end of the globally acclaimed series,created, written and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk.
"I know that a lot of you out there are curious about what’s going to happen in season three, but all of us are more curious about how much you’re going to enjoy it," he said, weighing in on his pre-release jitters. "So I can’t wait, I’m very nervous."
Over the weekend, the streaming platform also thrilled fans with the release of the official teaser.
The sneak peek revealed Gi-hun’s return to the deadly games following the failed rebellion that capped off Season 2, with the stakes now higher than ever.
Squid Game Season 3 is set to release on June 27.
