Joshua Jackson gets candid about what ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ means for him

Joshua Jackson has a long history with his upcoming project, Karate Kid: Legends, and he is very grateful for the part.

The 46-year-old actor shared that he takes a lot of pride in "being a part of this legacy" of the Karate Kid franchise, at the premiere on Wednesday, May 27.

The Doctor Odyssey star called this role a "childhood dream come true" as he grew up watching the 1984 Karate Kid, in conversation with People Magazine.

"As [Ben Wang] said very wisely, he's going to be the Karate Kid for my daughter and I just think that that's awesome that I get to be a part of the movie that like pays that forward to the next generation," Jackson shared.

The Dawson’s Creek actor plays Victor in the new movie, who is a former boxing champ and pizzeria owner.

Jackson also revealed to the outlet that he brought his 5-year-old daughter, Juno, on set whom he shares with ex Jodie Turner-Smith.

"She came out to visit Montreal for five, six days because my brother lives up there, it was a family trip and I brought her on set the day that we were doing the fight scene," he continued, which he shared did not turn out in his favour.

"That was really dumb," Jackson noted. "She did not like seeing her dad get beat up. So I don't think I'll watch it with her in the theatrical run, but within a couple years I think we'll be okay."
