Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt finalised their divorce after eight long years of legal battle in December 2024 and the Hollywood star has addressed the topic for the first time since.
The 61-year-old actor was asked about how he felt after the divorce settlement in a new interview on Wednesday, May 28.
The Fight Club star made light of the situation as he said “No, I don’t think it was that major of a thing. Just something coming to fruition. Legally,” in conversation with GQ Magazine.
Dismissing the questions focusing his split with the Maria star, Pitt complained about how his "personal life is always in the news."
The Oscar winner, who is starring in the upcoming movie F1, added, "It’s been in the news for 30 years, bro. Or some version of my personal life, let’s put it that way," in the interview with the outlet.
When asked if he thought of making the movie as "a refuge from all the attention" he personally gets, the actor said, “Um, I don’t see it that way."
He continued, “It’s been an annoyance I’ve had to always deal with in different degrees, large and small, as I do the things I really want to do.”
"So, it’s always been this kind of nagging time suck or waste of time, if you let it be that, I don’t know. I don’t know. Mostly I feel pretty…. My life is fairly contained. It feels pretty warm and secure with my friends, with my loves, with my fam, with my knowledge of who I am, that, you know, it’s like this fly buzzing around a little bit.”
F1 is scheduled for release on June 27.
