Convention urges PTI leadership not to ignore ideological workers

PESHAWAR: Local leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from various union councils of the provincial capital have urged the party’s central and provincial leadership not to ignore the ideological workers and vowed to render any sacrifice to accomplish mission of the party Chairman Imran Khan.

They were speaking at a convention of workers in Jhagra village of provincial assembly constituency PK-9. Hundreds of workers from various council unions of Peshawar, led by PTI’s former district vice-president Nawabzada Shakeel Khan Afridi and tribal leader Nawabzada Fazal Karim Khan Afridi, gathered at the event.

Member National Assembly and PTI provincial spokesman Ali Mohammad Khan was the chief guest at the event.MNA Sajid Nawaz, MPA Mehmood Jan and other local leaders spoke on the occasion as well.

The emotionally charged workers danced to the party songs and raised slogans in favour of Imran Khan and PTI. In separate speeches, the local party leaders reposed confidence in the leadership of Imran Khan, who, they said, was against the status quo in politics.

In his welcome address, PTI leader Shakeel Afridi said that the workers were an asset to the party and should not be ignored. He said that it was the need of the hour to remove sense of deprivation among the ideological workers and address their genuine concerns on priority basis.

Shakeel Afridi believed the PTI was the only political party that held the corrupt rulers accountable. He hoped the PTI would sweep in the next general election and form government in the province again.

Ali Mohammad Khan said the PTI would continue campaign against corruption and said make the Pakistan a true welfare Islamic state. The MNA said corruption was the biggest issue of the country, adding the PTI would eliminate it. He said the party campaign for corruption-free Pakistan would be intensified across the country.

The crowd responded with loud chant of “ayes” when he sought their consent as to whether they want Imran Khan as the next prime minister of the country.Sajid Nawaz said Imran Khan was the only hope for people. He sought the workers’ support for implementation of Imran Khan’s vision of merit and justice across the country. He said the PTI had raised awareness among the people.

In his concluding remarks, Nawabzada Fazal Karim Afridi thanked party activists for participating in the convention. He urged the party leadership to give proper attention to the ideological workers and address their concerns on priority basis.
