Youth dies, two injured as wire falls into canal
LAHORE
A 25-year-old man was electrocuted while two other received injuries when an electric wire fell into the canal in Hadiara police limits on Saturday.
Police said the victims were swimming in the canal when an electric wire fell on them.
As a result, Waseem, a resident of Bhaghatpura, died on the spot while two others received injuries.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital. Police reached the spot on information and removed the body to morgue for autopsy. They also collected forensic evidences from the scene and registered statements of eye-witnesses.
Man dies: A man died in the custody of CIA Iqbal Town police on Friday night.
Police said that they had arrested Tariq from Kasur on identification of few suspects already in their custody.
Police said that the victim’s condition deteriorated after which he was shifted to hospital but he died. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy.
Woman dies: A 60-year-old woman died and four other received injuries in a road accident in Manga Mandi police limits on Friday night.
Police said that the victims were riding a rickshaw and as they reached Multan Road near Manga Mandi, a fast-moving truck hit them.
As a result, the victims received injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital where the doctors pronounced Razzia Bibi dead. The driver fled.
Police reached the spot and removed the body to morgue for autopsy.
Mill worker dies: A 25-year-old labourer died when an equipment fell on him in a paper mill in the Shafiqabad police area on Saturday.
Police said victim Daniyal worked in a paper mill. On the day of the incident, he was at work when an equipment used to life goods fell on him.
He and another labourer suffered injuries. They were shifted to hospital where the doctors pronounced Daniyal dead.
Police have removed the body to morgue, collected forensic evidences and registered the statements of the eye-witnesses.
Man dies of burns: A man who had set himself and his mother-in-law ablaze about a month ago on a domestic dispute died in a hospital on Saturday.
Police said Aslam had set his mother-in-law on fire a month ago alleging that she instigated his wife against him on which she left his house. In the incident, he was also burnt.
Both were admitted to hospital. About two weeks ago, the woman had succumbed to her injuries. He died on Saturday.
Police have removed the body to morgue.
Doctor shot dead: A 60-year-old doctor was shot dead by unidentified persons in the Civil Lines area on Saturday.
Police said Dr Asghar Aish, a resident of Janki Devi, Qila Gujjar Singh, had a dispute with some people in his hometown, Narowal. On the day of the incident, he was going to Cantt Courts to appear before a court.
As he reached near Davis Road, two unidentified persons intercepted and opened fire and wounded him. He was removed to hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead. Police have removed the body to morgue and registered a case against unidentified persons.
