Education key to prosperity, says minister

Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed has said that education is a key to progress and prosperity of the country. 

He said that if a visionary leadership becomes available to educated young generation, the destiny of the country can be changed within a few years. He said that in the light of the educational vision of the Punjab chief minister, development of the country was being ensured through provision of necessary facilities to public and private schools of the province.

He expressed theses views while addressing an annual prize distribution ceremony of a local school at Gulshan-e-Ravi today. The minister distributed prizes among position holders and their teachers. He said that Pakistani children had proved their capabilities and talent.

He said it was quality of Pakistani children that they had achieved prominent positions at international competitions by utilizing their talent and won laurels for the country and the nation.

He said the Punjab government had provided proper platforms to the youth for displaying their abilities. Necessary infrastructure is being provided to children for extracurricular activities, he added.

He said the provincial Education Department by allocating 27 percent of the budget for education had proved its deep interest in the sector. He said that Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was taking practical steps for raising education standard for students by paying surprise visits to educational institutions.  He said that rate of enrollment and attendance of teachers had increased.
