Says MQM ready to face allegations in court of law
KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader Dr Farooq Sattar on Friday rejected the charge of MQM funding by RAW.
He said the MQM would not be derailed due to a new challenge which it was facing, a reference to increasing defections and allegations the party has been facing from ex-Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal.
Speaking at the party’s 32nd foundation day ceremony, he said the new challenge was thrown in Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s way to derail it.
“We will keep moving forward with unity and solidarity within our ranks,” he said. The senior MQM leader said the party enjoyed public mandate in the elections and there was nothing new in the recent allegations the party was facing.
“The allegations we are facing now are the same which we have faced since day one,” he said. Sattar said they were ready to face these accusations in the country’s courts of law. However, he added since the charges were leveled in the media hence the reply on the same platform was sufficient.
