Celebration in Lahore

Not only in Karachi, but recently, Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing (SWCON) in Lahore, celebrated International Nurses and Midwives Day 2016 at the General Attique-ur-Rehman Auditorium of Fatima Memorial Hospital.

Saida Waheed FMH College is a part of Fatima Memorial System with an aim to produce lifelong learners since its inception in 1978. It is providing excellent teaching and training opportunities to its students filling the gap to train and produce nurses in all disciplines both nationally and internationally.

The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. The audience were welcomed by Misbah Zafar, Director of Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing. The College then highlighted the services of Florence Nightingale through a presentation and dramatic representation by the students. This was followed by an address by the Chief Guest, Ms. Nighat Ijaz Durrani, Former Registrar Pakistan Nursing Council and key note address by Prof. Zafar Iqbal Qureshi, Chairman, Board of Governors, NUR International University. The ceremony ended with a prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks.

The yearly celebration is a platform to encourage nursing professionals at a national level to share their views and ideas for the development of the field.
