Facebook on Thursday announced that it is making its search function a lot more powerful to make it possible for users to search all 2 trillion posts on any topic.
The new improved feature is expected to make the process of finding real-time information and relevant conversations easier.
For example, if a term like “Pakistan” or “World T20” is searched, a list of suggested groups, Pages, or events would not appear. Instead, the user would be directed to a personalized and more targeted feed with relevant posts not only from the user’s friends but from strangers as well.
Like Google, Facebook search will also make suggestions, completing half-typed topics. For example if a user types “water”, he might be shown all posts related to water on Mars.
“Search results are organised to help you cut through the noise and quickly understand what the world is saying about a topic in the moment,” says Facebook in its blog.
