NEPRA takes notice of power crisis in Karachi, forms committee

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday took notice of power crisis in Karachi and formed a four-member committee to examine reasons behind the disaster.

According to NEPRA spokesman, the body includes Consultant NEPRA Masood Ahmed Khan, Javed Pervez, Senior Technical Advisor Hussain Seghum Alvi and Director Standard Mazhar Ranjha.

The committee members will soon travel to Karachi and assess

ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Wednesday took notice of power crisis in Karachi and formed a four-member committee to examine reasons behind the disaster.

According to NEPRA spokesman, the body includes Consultant NEPRA Masood Ahmed Khan, Javed Pervez, Senior Technical Advisor Hussain Seghum Alvi and Director Standard Mazhar Ranjha.

The committee members will soon travel to Karachi and assess the matter. It will also review investment in the K-Electric besides generation data and progress claims by the company, the spokesman added.

In the past, NEPRA had also taken notice for not materializing all its potential by K-Electric and the matter is in Sindh High Court and the regulatory body is defending it.
