LAHORE: Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain on Monday said the legitimate government of Yemen should be reinstated and that Pakistan will not let any harm caused to Saudi Arabia.

Talking to media men here in Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (PCSIR) laboratories, Tanveer said the government did not consider the statement of United Arab Emirates (UAE) foreign Minister as the official stance of the country.

"Pakistani troops will not go to Yemen", Tanveer repeated parliament's stance over Yemen crisis.

He said the parliament had taken the decision to play neutral in the current situation in Yemen in light of post-9/11 experience. However, the Minister said Pakistan's military support is with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He said the Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar was not annoyed with the government and he always remains available when needed.

Rana Tanveer advised Imran Khan to desist from trying to influence the judicial commission formed to probe the alleged rigging in elections of 2013.

Commenting on the speech of Defense Minister Khawaja Asif in the parliament, Tanveer said Asif was angry at the time of his speech during the joint sitting of the Parliament.

“It is natural to lose temper with those who had been criticizing the government for last 10 months,” he said.
