PESHAWAR: All Pakistan Contractors’ Association, Peshawar chapter, has expressed concern over the post-qualification criteria in awarding tenders and demanded to revise the policy.
Addressing a press conference, the association’s president Malik Mehar Zaman said the new policy of depositing a huge amount as post-qualification is totally injustice and should be ended.
Accompanied by the association’s other office-bearers, he said the incumbent government stopped open tendering system to support its favourites.
He also demanded the government to decrease tender approval days from 90 to 15, and stop the anti-corruption institutions from harassing contractors by initiating inquiries in various ongoing and already completed development projects without any consultation with district contractors committee. The association president said advertisement for a tender should be published only after provision of funds.
