Bahrain sports journalists visit Peshawar

PESHAWAR: A seven-member delegation of sports journalists from Bahrain will arrive in the provincial capital here today.
The delegation is visiting Peshawar on the invitation of Pakistan Sportswriters Association and Malik Saad Trust.
The delegation, headed by Asian Sports Press Union deputy secretary general Muhammad Qasim, will spend five days in the city.
The delegation will meet chief minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and inspector general of police.
Muhammad Qasim, who is also president of Bahrain Sports Media Committee, will also meet Syed Aqil Shah, former sports minister and senior vice-president of Pakistan Olympic Association.
A delegation of Afghanistan Sportswriters headed by its newly-elected president Syarz Aland and Fata Sportswriters will also call on the visiting delegation.
A cultural show will also be arranged for the guests, besides their visit to historic places of the city.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the ties between sports managers and writers of both the countries.
The sports federation of both the countries had already signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make endeavours for promotion of sports journalism. The delegation will later visit Islamabad and Lahore.
