Issue of prolonged gas loadshedding in G-7 echoes in NA

The problem of prolonged gas loadshedding in the federal capital, especially in Sector G-7, echoed in the National Assembly on Friday.
Dr. Mahreen Razaque Bhutto and other parliamentarians of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) raised the issue on a call attention notice. Dr. Mahreen expressed her concern over persistent low gas pressure and loadshedding in Sector G-7 and elsewhere in Islamabad.
Responding to the call attention notice, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Resources Jam Kamal told the House that steps are being taken to augment the supply of gas to these sectors.
He said the government is taking steps to overcome gas shortage in the country and for this purpose exploration process is being enhanced. He said it is for the first time that licenses of those exploration companies are being cancelled whose performance is not up to the mark. He pointed out that Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline project will be inaugurated next month in Turkmenistan.
