‘FDE revises policies to cope with challenges’

Islamabad: Minister for the Capital Administration and Development Division Usman Ibrahim has said the Federal Directorate of Education, Islamabad, revises its policies from time to time in line with the needs of teachers and students so that they are able to cope with modern day challenges.
In this connection, 685 teachers of English language were appointed to Islamabad’s government schools, who have been teaching English to students of early classes.
“In order to improve their teaching capability, the FDE Training Wing regularly arranges training workshops in collaboration with national and international NGOs. A total of 775 teachers of English language have been trained at elementary and secondary school levels to meet the goals of English teaching proficiency in educational institutions,” he told reporters here.
The minister said as per scheme of studies, the directorate had introduced computer studies as a compulsory subject at elementary school level and set up fully computer equipped labs in educational institutions under-trained computer teaching faculty.
He said in order to improve their computer skills, the FDE training wing recently trained 200 computer teachers in collaboration with Intel Education.
