Rose Festival, organised by the National Horticulture Society, concluded here on Sunday. The Combined Military Hospital (CMH) and Radio Pakistan have collectively secured first position.
Member Environment Syed Mustafain Kazmi was the chief guest on the occasion.
Addressing the participants of the Rose Festival, the CDA member environment said that in line with the directions of CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal, the Environment Wing is planting indigenous species of flowering and fruit plants in the federal capital to further enhance its beauty and green cover.
He said that during the current spring plantation drive in the city, the CDA ensured maximum participation of citizens and government and non-government organisations.
He appreciated the efforts of National Horticulture Society for organising a successful Rose Festival and ensured its officials of full cooperation.
On the occasion, National Horticulture Society Chairman Mansoor Ali Khan said that 66 institutions, including Radio Pakistan, Canadian High Commission, CMH, Air University, Islamabad Club and PWD, participated in the Rose Festival.
He thanked the CDA and said that the civic body has always encouraged the National Horticulture Society and extended its cooperation. He said that the National Horticulture Society in collaboration with the CDA would not only organise such colourful events but would also play its due role in beautification of Islamabad.
In the Rose Festival, Radio Pakistan and CMH collectively stood first and Islamabad Club secured second position. The Rose Festival was inaugurated by the Japanese ambassador.
