Healthy substitute for white sugar

Islamabad: Lok Sanjh Foundation (Oxfam) and Rural Business Development (RBDC) have helped sugarcane growers to produce healthy substitute for white sugar by establishing Gur Producers Association, says a press release.
A ceremony in this regard was organised to highlight the achievements of Lok Sanjh Foundation (Oxfam), Rural Business Development (RBDC) and Gur Producers Association.
Speaking on the occasion, NARC Dr Azeem hailed the role played by RBDC in promoting small business ventures around the country. He also revealed that government is also going to fund Rs2 billion for promotion of small businesses.
Oxfam Associate Country Arrie eulogising the role of RBDC and Lok Sanjh Foundation said that this is helping small scale farmers.
The speakers were of the view that sugarcane growers are not getting what they really deserve.
Advocate Nasir Javed Ghuman, Lok Sanjh Foundation Executive Director Dr Farzana Shahid, Oxfam Programme Manager Imrana Farooqi, and representatives of Gur Producers Association also spoke on the occasion.
