Punjab Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that 500 new primary schools are being opened during the current financial year in Punjab.
Talking to a delegation of educationists on Friday, he further said the project of opening new schools will cost Rs six billion and Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) would complete this scheme.
The minister said the Punjab government is taking all-out measures for the development of school education. He said due to these steps, the required target of enrollment rate has been achieved in the schools. He said Punjab Education Department is running the biggest educational system of Asia which comprises more than 50,000 schools and 325,000 teachers.
