Speaking to Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News show ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath,’ former National Assembly speaker Dr Fehmida Mirza Tuesday said that she was very disappointed over the treatment meted out to her workers in Badin.
She said that BB posed trust in her and gave a ticket for election. If I do not stand with people in their testing time then it will not be a justice. Our demand of appointment of an impartial SP in Badin is not wrong. Dr Mirza tendered resignation on his own. I had been raising voice for situation in Badin within the party but the chief minister had never taken notice of it. There is a feeling like an orphan in the party after the death of BB.
I have reached here after fighting cancer and now there is no greed for any position. There should be no dirty politics on small things as this is harmful for democracy. An impression is being created that business interests were behind this whole situation. I had never taken any benefit as a Speaker. I would request Asif Ali Zardari and chief minister to listen to what masses want.
Speaking in the show, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that ISPR reaction on Altaf’s statement represents the point of view of the government and defence ministry. No Pakistani can say what Altaf Hussain had said about RAW. Altaf could have visit Pakistan like India during the last 25 years.
He has become used to issuing statements like these. Pak Army is giving sacrifices in the war against terrorists. Interests of the Taliban and RAW are same and If Altaf Hussain is asking for help from RAW then he is becoming a part of that nexus of terrorists.
He said that if India were our sympathiser in the war against terrorism then it had never created tension on border.
Standing Committee on Defence Chief Rohail Asghar speaking in the show said that a strong reaction had come from the committee members during Tuesday’s meeting.
