Verdict on PCB plea against tax reserved

LAHORELahore High Court Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi Thursday reserved the verdict on a petition challenging a notice for recovery of Rs 10 million property tax from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). The court on the petition moved by PCB had already stayed execution of the notice for recovery of the property tax.

Lahore High Court Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi Thursday reserved the verdict on a petition challenging a notice for recovery of Rs 10 million property tax from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
The court on the petition moved by PCB had already stayed execution of the notice for recovery of the property tax.
Petitioner counsel said the Excise Department sent the board a notice to pay Rs 10 million property tax for its office at Qaddafi Stadium. He said the PCB had acquired the property on lease and the property tax could not be charged on a leased property.
warrants: Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Asgher Khan Thursday issued arrest warrants to Nishtar Town Police in charge investigation for not complying with the court orders.
The court directed the authorities concerned to arrest the police official and produce him before the court on next hearing. Nishtar Town police In charge Investigation Nasir Baig was summoned by the court many times for his statement as prosecution witness, but he did not turn up.
