CCPO Amin Wains has suspended the Lorry Adda police SHO for not arresting people involved in shooting at and injuring a doctor and two others at a clinic on Tuesday.
The police failed to find any clue about the attackers. In charge Investigation Haji Munir said police had yet to find a clue about the accused. He said the injured doctor was not in a condition to register his statement. The reason for the attack would be known after his statement, he added.
Doctor Ali Raza and two others were shot at and injured by some unidentified assailants at the clinic.
The doctor’s family members and people of the area visited the CCPO and demanded a stern action against the SHO who did not take action against the attackers. They warned of holding protest against the police. The CCPO suspended the SHO and ordered a departmental enquiry against him.
ARRESTED: Gulshan Ravi Police arrested four accused involved in drug peddling and recovered charas and liquor from their possession. A police team arrested Naseem alias Billa, Salman alias Sonu, Mehtaab Abbas and Rashid Maseeh and recovered 800g chars and 630g liquor from their possession. DIG Operations announced commendatory certificates for the team.
MAN KILLED: A 24-year-old man succumbed to his injuries in the Muslim Town Police limits. The victim was identified as Ali Murtaza of Multan. He was going to his quarter when near Muslim Town Underpass a car hit him and died on way to hospital.
