The Mary McBride band wowed more than 200 music lovers at the Pakistan American Cultural Center (PACC) with an alluring medley of Americana favourites.
Singer Mary McBride and her band are in Karachi for the second time at the invitation of the US consulate. “We are happy to welcome Mary McBride and her band back to Karachi,” said US consulate’s cultural attaché, Priscilla Guzman. “From the reaction of the audience, it was obvious that Mary McBride and her style of music are a big hit.”
The musical event is one of the many events organised by the US consulate for cultural diplomacy. “These events,” said Ms Guzman, “Help us convey the importance of tolerance, respect and mutual understanding. Music has a way of bringing people together like nothing else can.”
Mary McBride and her band have released four albums – “Everything Seemed Alright,” “By Any Other Name,” “Every Day Is a Holiday,” and “The Way Home.” As a cultural envoy for the US department of state, Mary McBride and her band have performed in more than 20 countries, including Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Afghanistan and Russia.
Band members include John Kengla on guitar, Jon Spurney on keyboard, Greg Beshers on bass and Mark Stepro on drums.
