ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has directed Nadra to prepare the national counter-terrorism database and that of the INGOs.He said this during his meeting with senior officials of Nadra during a visit to the Nadra headquarters on Tuesday.
Taking notice of the difficulties being faced by the people due to long queues at every office of Nadra, the minister directed the chairman Nadra to put in place an online CNIC application system. This, he said, would not only benefit the Pakistanis in the country but also the overseas Pakistanis.
The minister said that Nadra is a national organisation which is counted among the providers of essential services to the people. He advised that Nadra employees should treat people with respect, courtesy and honour. The hard work and attitude of the employees would add to the image of the organisation in the eyes of the people, continued the minister.
He directed the management of Nadra to appreciate and reward hardworking and honest workers. The minister called for introducing performance-based system in the organisation so that hardworking employees were rewarded and were duly compensated.
Discussing the pay package and perks of Nadra employees, the minister said that Nadra employees should be given their due share from the profit that the Nadra earns. In this regard, the minister announced that every employee from grade 1-15 be given Rs15,000 on this Eid as bonus.
He said that an anti-corruption cell be established in Nadra to take action against the corrupt elements especially those involved in fake registration.Talking about Nadra winning e-Passport project of Kenya worth three million dollars, the minister observed that the win was a reflection of Nadra’s credentials and the trust of the international community on the organisation as provider of quality and reliable registration services to the developing nations and enabling them to meet their national and security requirements. He said the chairman and entire team of Nadra deserved felicitation over this achievement.
