ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) will present evidence before the Judicial Commission (JC) that workforce required for swift completion of election-related printing tasks was not only requisitioned but was also dispatched to Islamabad before May 9, 2013.
It is claimed that on May 9, 2013, Punjab Election Commissioner Anwar Mehboob demanded workforce of 200 people, capable of performing printing jobs.An ECP official said that former Punjab election commissioner Anwar Mehboob would present evidences before that judicial commission on Thursday and afterwards even this task of requisitioning workforce for printing tasks was initiated before May 9, 2013 and was completed normally under devised rules, regulations and laid down procedure.
Senior ECP official however said that it was strange and disturbing that previous allegations were repeated thousands of times on media and during the speeches have been withdrawn and that ECP could not inform the commission of previous real statement regarding printing of ballot papers from Urdu Bazaar as it is not its mandate.
