ISLAMABAD: Imam-e-Ka’aba Dr Shaikh Khalid Al Ghamidi on Sunday called upon the Saudis and Iranians to get united on the Holy Quran and Sunnah.
He said he was sensing a difference between the opinion of the Pakistani nation and parliament. He termed the Taliban and Daesh as Khwarij for making the wrong interpretations of Islam.
In an interview with Geo News anchor Saleem Safi in the ‘Jirga’ programme, the Imam-e-Ka’aba said the conspirators wanted to see the Muslims divided.Shaikh Khalid said the emotions of the people of Pakistan for the Harmain Sharifain are unprecedented. The Imam-e-Ka’aba said during his visit to Pakistan he spent two busy days with its people who proved their exceptional love and affection for Harmain Sharifain.
Replying to a question, he said the Houthi rebels had unleashed a reign of terror in Yemen by attacking educational institutions, mosques, madaris (religious seminaries), ousting the legitimate government and carrying out the genocide of women.
He said the military operation by the coalition of Arab countries against the rebels was the reaction of the cruelty meted out to the Muslims there. “The step is to help the oppressed Muslims living in Yemen and we will succeed by the grace of Allah Almighty,” he said.
Sheikh Khalid said there were confirmed reports that the group of rebels had the ill-motives to expand their activities to Saudi Arabia and attack sacred places of Makkah and Madina. “But, I am confident that in the presence of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, no one can dare to cast an evil eye on the Harmain Sharifain,” he added.
To another question, he said all possible options were adopted to resolve the issue amicably but nothing could materialise. He said the military operation was launched as a last resort. He said he was astonished that the rebel group was highly trained and equipped with the latest weapons and technologies. “It is surprising from where they got all this and how,” he said.
The Imam-e-Ka’aba said it was a historic fact that Saudi Arabia never resorted to aggression against any neighbour or other country rather it tried to promote harmony among all religions and sects.
The Saudi government, he added, also never indulged in sectarianism, as people belonging to different schools of thought were living in the country peacefully. He rejected the impression that Saudi Arabia only supported a specific sect, saying that the Kingdom always dealt with all Muslims without any discrimination.
Commenting on activities of Taliban and Daesh, he said they were wrongly interpreting the teachings of the Holy Quran and Sunnah of Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He said Islam is the religion of peace, harmony and brotherhood and it never allows anyone to take lives of innocent people. “Islam gives the lesson of peaceful co-existence where follower of every religion feels himself secure,” he added.
