PTI leader challenges accusations of ex-DG Ehtesab Commission
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai while expressing concern over media trial of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government by former DG Ehtesab Commission invited him to bring forth any solid proofs if he had against the KP government and its leaders.
He said in fact the ex-DG wanted to attain authority and rights like a king, however, the government after making changes in rules and authority made him bound to make consultations with other commission members on any decision.
Shaukat Yousafzai in a statement said that the provincial government had given full liberty to the DG and never interfered in his work and decisions as he himself admitted the fact on many occasions.
He also challenged the ex-DG to tell the amendments that decreased his powers that caused his resignation. The PTI leader said that the ex-DG became authoritative and started victimising the people by putting them in jail without any proofs but, with the introduction of new amendments, he was refrained from taking any unilateral decision and should consult other Commission members before taking any major decision against any accused.
Shaukat Yousafzai said that he was astonished to know about the illogical annoyance of the ex-DG over these amendments. He said that the people were alive and realised that corruption had reduced during the PTI government and Imran Khan was the only leader who was raising voice against corruption.
