ISLAMABAD: The legal team of former president and president of Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians (PPPP), Asif Ali Zardari, has sought 15 days more from the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to respond to its queries sent to him with regard to an apartment in New York.
The NAB Rawalpindi had sent a letter for provision of information under Section 19 of the National Accountability Ordinance (NAO), 1999 regarding an inquiry against Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur, M/s Zardari Group and others regarding amassing of assets beyond known source of income.
Through the letter dated July 9, 2021, the NAB Rawalpindi sought a reply to a questionnaire with regard to an apartment in New York City, USA, by July 16.
When contacted, Senator Farooq H Naek, a legal advisor to Asif Zardari, said he had written a letter to NAB seeking 15 days more to respond as health of Zardari was not good and he was suffering from multiple ailments. Due to his health condition, answers could not be prepared, he said.
“We have received a letter from NAB two or three days back, and I had sent them a letter seeking 15 days more to respond,” he told The News. Senator Naek said the detailed answers to the questionnaire would be sent to NAB in 15 days.
