MANSEHRA: The low-grade employees of the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) on Tuesday took to the streets, demanding share in the allotment of residential quarters built for employees by the Local Government department.
Holding banners and placards, the employees marched through Kachari road outside the TMA offices and raised slogans in support of their demand. “The Tehsil Municipal Administration has constructed residential quarters for employees but the senior officers allotted them to their blue-eyed persons only,” a protester alleged.
“We would continue to protest until our demand is met,” Mohammad Tanveer, the president of the employees union, said.
He said the Local Government department should probe the matter and take action against the ones involved in illegal practices.
