SUKKUR: A man has been trying to sell his children at a market in Ghotki to pay fine of Rs5.5 million on Saturday, after being allegedly convicted as ‘Karo’ and fined by a local jirga.
Reports said a man Ameer Hamzo, and his wife Bakhtawar Wasoo, residents of village Janan Wasoo of district Ghotki, have brought their two children, including a five-year-old boy Mahamood and a four-year-old girl Salima at a local market in district Ghotki, requesting people to buy their children, as he has to pay Rs5.5 million after being fined by a local jirga.
He said some politically influential persons, including Amanullah and Habibullah Wasso had forced the jirga to convict him as ‘Karo’ and fined him Rs5.5 million. SSP Ghotki has taken notice and ordered the police to investigate the issue.
