PHF congress meeting to be held in Karachi on December 26
KARACHI: The PHF Congress meeting is likely to be held in Karachi on December 26 to discuss the national hockey affairs.
The congress meeting is normally held in December.
The Congress meeting is to give approval of the PHF secretary Shahbaz Ahmed and treasurer Ikhlaq Usmani, ‘The News’ learnt on Sunday.
Informed sources said that several affairs were delayed, so PHF decided to hold the congress meeting when national hockey championship would be held in Karachi from December 25 to January 10.
Around 100 members of PHF congress will come to participate in the meeting in Karachi from across the country.
The sources confirmed that PHF would start informing all the members of the congress from Monday (today).
The congress meeting will discuss the budget and approve various programmes and activities.
The congress will approve the national domestic hockey calendar for 2016. The meeting will also approve the nomination of the members of national selection committee and Pakistan senior and junior teams’ officials.
It will also give approval of the foreign tours of senior and junior teams. The junior team’s preparation for World Cup 2016 is the top most priority of PHF. The team is to visit various European countries and play 20 to 25 matches there.
