KARACHI: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday stopped both factions of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) from granting permission to organisers for holding all-Pakistan football tournaments.
It said only PFF administrator Asad Muneer had the authority to do so.
A source who was present at the proceeding told ‘The News’ that the court warned both parties after it was informed that one of the officials of Arshad Lodhi group had issued permission to organisers for holding tournaments in Chaman and Karachi.
The source said that the court also asked about the formation of both factions. The tenure restriction clause of the national sports policy also came under discussion, the source added.
The hearing was adjourned till Monday. It was learnt that no progress was made in the contempt case as Faisal Saleh Hayat’s counsel Asma Jehangir did not appear because of her engagement at the Supreme Court.
