LAHORE: Hamid Mir, the host of Geo News programme Capital Talk, Thursday asked renowned religious scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil to name the media owner he had alluded to in his prayer as the live telethon.
Hosting the programme, Mir said that Maulana Tariq Jamil had said before praying that media thrived on lies and a big TV channel owner had once told him that channels could not thrive without lies. Mir said that not naming the owner could create misunderstanding about every one in media as he had received many messages.
Mir said “may Allah’s curse the one who lies on media”, and asked Maulana Tariq Jamil to name the media owner as spreading misunderstanding about everyone was not right. Mir said it was Maulana Tariq Jamil’s religious obligation to name the person.
