LAHORE
Walled City of Lahore Authority has organised a mega photo walk in the upcoming month of October 2015 with an aim to promote tourism in Walled City of Lahore. The upcoming walk will attract a large number of citizens and professional photographers, officials said, adding that this time the route of the walk have been changed and now participants will explore new attractions inside Walled City for the first time. They said WCLA had already conducted five photo walks in the past in which the participants explored the Royal Trail, Lohari Gate, Mochi Gate and Lahore Fort areas.
This time the new attractions will be Gali Molana Rohi, Mohallah Niyarian, Gali Awasti Raam, Victoria School, Mohallah Jalotian, Katri Mela Raam, House of Allama Iqbal, Mohallah Patranga, Bhati Gate, Mohallah Chomalah, Oonchi Masjid, Sheesh Mehal Ghati, Moti Tibba, Manjay Wala Chowk, Gali Devi Dita, Koocha Teer Khana, Haveli Wajid Ali Shah, Haveli Mubarak Begum, Faqir Khana Museum, Koocha Faqir Khana, Gali Lal Masjid, Tehsil Bazaar, Tibbi Gali, Sheikhupurian Bazaar, House of Melody Queen Noor Jehan, House of Sir Ganga Raam, Neevan Chaitraam and Fort Road Food Street. DG WCLA Kamran Lashari said that the upcoming walk would be a very an interesting activity because such walks had already gained popularity among the youth. “We are also compiling the work of these enthusiastic photographers in the form of coffee table books and other print material,” he revealed adding that this was the best form of digitising our heritage.
