Bahria Town Karachi: Malik Riaz removes confusion of allottees

ISLAMABAD: Bahria Town Chairman Malik Riaz Hussain has removed confusion among the allottees of Karachi on development charges being imposed on them.

Through a video message on Tuesday night, he said that rumours about imposing of development charges on the whole Bahria Town Karachi are false and baseless.

He said that development charges will be recovered on one of Bahria Town projects of 2014 under which the flats, houses and plots were delivered to the allottees under memorandum No 26 and 27. He said that except Bahria Town project of 2014 no development charges will be imposed on other 13 Bahria Town’s projects in Karachi.

In his recorded message, he said that residents of Bahria Town Karachi should not be misguided by any propaganda and therefore he is recording a video message in his own voice so that the residents should not feel any problem and any confusion.

He said that he is 100% studying proposals of the members of Bahria Town. He once again clarified in his video message that development charges are only being collected from the houses, flats, plazas and commercial properties of Bahria Town 2014 project which had been delivered to the allottees.

He further said that except this project, no development charges will be recovered on any other project of Bahria Town.

Malik Riaz revealed the names of projects in which no development charges will be recovered and gave guarantee in this regard. These are Golf City Karachi, Fort City Karachi, Bahria Paradise Karachi, Ali Block Karachi, Iqbal Villa Karachi, Quaid Villa Karachi, Bahria Hill Karachi, Farm Houses Karachi, Midway Commercial Karachi, Liberty Commercial Karachi, and Jinnah Avenue Karachi.

At the end, he assured that whatever Bahria Town gives assurance it will be fulfilled and respected members of Bahria Town should not fall prey to any confusion.
