PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) provincial spokesman Ikhtiar Wali has expressed concern over alleged police violence on the party leader from Swat, Abdul Ghafoor, and asked the police not to act as personal servants of federal minister Murad Saeed. In a statement on Sunday, Ikhtiar Wali said that former PML-N candidate from provincial assembly constituency PK-7 Abdul Ghafoor was taken hostage by Kabal police at the behest of federal minister Murad Saeed.

He said Kabal Police Station cops tortured Abdul Ghafoor along with Usman Ghani the other night. Terming the incident a political victimisation by Murad Saeed, Ikhtiar Wali said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf should refrain from torturing rivals. He appealed to the chief justice of Peshawar High Court and inspector general of police to take notice of the incident and order immediate release of the PML-N leaders. He warned that Murad Saeed would be held responsible in case of any harm to Abdul Ghafoor and Usman Ghani.
