Six people, including three members of a family, were killed and 16 others injured as heavy rain caused collapse of roofs in Punjab cities on Monday.
DERA GHAZI KHAN: Three members of a family, including a child, died while five others were injured when the roof of their house collapsed at Dajal, Rajanpur district.
Due to continuous rain, the roof of a house collapsed. As a result, Mukhtar Mai, Saira Mai and 10-year-old Aamir were killed on the spot while five others were injured. The Rescue 1122 staffers shifted the injured people to the tehsil headquarters hospital, Jampur.
JHANG: A girl was killed while her brother and sister were injured when the roof of their mud house collapsed at Dargahi Shah village, Athara Hazari tehsil.
According to Rescue 1122, the roof of a mud house caved in due to heavy rain, killing Ambreen Abid (12) and injuring her brother Imran Abid (10) and sister Sidra Abid (8).
NANKANA SAHIB: Five people were injured in two incidents here.
The roof of a house collapsed due to rain at Khokran village on Nankana-Warburton Road. As a result, twelve-year-old Bisma, seven-year-old Ali Haider and 10-year-old Chandi were injured. MULTAN: Four members of a family were injured in a roof collapse at Mumtazabad. The injured were identified as 74-year-old Nawaz Shahid, 14-year-old Muhammad Wajeeh, 13-year-old Amna Shahid and 54-year-old Bushra. The injured were shifted to the Nishtar Hospital.
Pakpattan: The city and its adjoining areas received heavy rain on Monday.
