Remembering APS
On December 16, 2014 an inhuman act of persecution was carried out in the country where seven heavily-armed terrorists entered the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar and opened indiscriminate firing on innocent children and teachers. As a result, 150 lives lost their lives; among them at least 134 were school students. The whole nation went into shock after hearing this news. The main intention of the enemy was to bring instability in our beloved country and keep us far from education by promoting an atmosphere of fear.
The entire nation stood firm and showed solidarity with the victims and stood with the armed forces against the terrorists. After the the attack many families were reluctant to send their children to school but thanks to our law-enforcement agencies - who have always been on guard – they resumed their children's schooling. This December 16 we must pay tribute to those who laid their lives in the protracted war of terrorism that they had nothing to do with it. We must also pay tribute to those soldiers who lost their lives just to make Pakistan a peaceful country.
